Hello people, as you most probably know i am reknowned to be very bad at maths [worldwide], i was almost beginning to believe that i was dumb, but then something changed, i realized that one can work ok in maths if we put lots of efforts [ ohh hell yes ], am normally the sort of dude who is lazy lazy lazy, since i am used to most of the things that we do in computer science and stuff, i usually never had any problems with most of the subjects, since i just had start reading on the eve of the exams [which is something i won't recommend]. Anyways, for my own sake and for the sake of many others who are like me, i hope i’ll be able to write a few series of notes that will help me and hopefully others like me to try to understand how to work out those problems…

note. most probably i am not going to be able to explain the “whys” but tleast i’ll try making it clear about the “hows”… while i always like to know the “whys” of things… i am on a race against time, i check the “whys” only at night, so if you find something that you feel you can explain, you are welcomed to comment [and who knows if i am free i'll copy add your explanation and credit you on it].

There are days like that when I really believe that a few people really lacks humanity in them.

As you all know, there was a huge rainy weather today, due to which univ was released earlier (and some even got their exams canceled).

The ministry of education released a communiqué to free all students from courses etc..

As always, it seems that everyone panicked and rushed and there was a huge traffic jam, which lead to unavailability of buses in reduit. There was a huge crowd of people in the bus stops, so going there was just plainly insane as the bus shelter was full to the max and couldn’t shelter more person from the rain. In such a case it is normal that students and others will wait for the rain to subside a bit and until there’s space in the bus shelter so as they can get a bus to go home. So in the mean while, since the UoM student’s common room was already closed, students crowded the univ’s cafE, it wasn’t THAT crowded, besides i believe that they were even making more profit since by waiting there, the students/other people are just potential customers. But of course, lack of humanity in those sonofbitches (or maybe they lack some grey matter), they just rushed everyone out (carrement, inn pouss bann zenfant dehor, i would say… “inn bour bann zenfant la dehor”). What kind of manners are that? Don’t those people have kids? Can’t they see that they are just pushing everyone outside to the rain and cold???

Damned, it wasn’t even 16hr ot 17hr, it was 14hr!! where they in SUCH a hurry to go home?? (in a traffic jam that was sooo locked that you can almost be sure nothing was moving).

The university of mauritius apparently doesn’t have enough fund to  cope for the massive number of students recruited. There’s a chance univ student will be going to college to study univ stuff now… (this sucks, you realize that there won’t be any such thing as ‘university life” if this is done? Why the heck does the government needs to get itself involved in academic issue? If the government wanted soo much to give everyone a degree, li ti kapav along with hsc certificate, mail every student who took the examination a degree!

Am not against providing tertiary education to everyone,  its good to do it, but if you can’t afford to give everyone that facility, don’t do it.

Yes, providing tertiary education to everyone does have its advantages(and disadvantages), but definitely, UOM can’t provide that,  so does the university of mauritius has to listen to whatever Ramgoolam says (so as he can say “monn donn zot zenfant accE facile a liniversitE” to boost his popularity?)? What needs to be done:

[*]- *employ someone that can synchronize test/assignments between modules for each class. (or else someone takes the responsibility to do it, if there’s a lecturer reading this, OR [si pena kass ]would it be alright if we student decides to tell you, ‘heh sir, can you put the test on the next week, we’ve got XYZ test to do this week, or sir, plz bouzz sa assignment la par 3 zour parseki blah blah blah’, so, will you lecturer be able to do that for us plz?

koi, we’ve got 14 weeks, 4 modules par la, pa kapav fer li en sort ki a test per week (will take only 4 weeks), instead of trying to put 3 test in 2 days! (sa vraimem daprE lord ena lecturer sado, et zot pensE nou maso) :p

[*]- How to work out questions, c plutot, “sir how do you correct stuffs”, what do you seek in answers, that would be cool if we know what the guy wants from us. Probably giving us back our papers is a good way to start, and si possible essey compare nou papier, kifer certain answers were marked as wrong, what was expected etc.. (monn bien dir SI possible, parseki sa li prend letemp sa).

[*]- Stop giving ambiguous questions, or questions that relates to questions that has been worked in class (i mean kan inn poz 1 kestion, met tou bann detail ki kestion la dimandE), e.g si gagne 1 kestion about “write a program to do this in this language using ‘abc’ API” bein donn API la atleast, parseki, a programming language si inn fer dans class c bien, mais you can’t expect ppl to learn API, si mo rapel bien, university isn’t a place where you are taught “a specific technology in question”, but rather the idea behind things, the logics behind it (sinon li ti pou vinn 1 truque vocationel, ou plito all suivre bann cours specific a sa bann technology la). We don’t wanna become technology dependant.. c con sa.

As far as ambiguity in questions, certain questions monn trouvE ki, if you look at it from another angle, you get a different answer, if you look it at another angle, you get another different answer, so if it means that I know all the other point of view i can give any answer, then am wrong? be specific when you ask question, assume us to be like computers, give us exactly what you want, and we give you back what you want without problem, many parameters are missing in certain questions i’ve seen.

Well, it took me quite a long time ot figure it out, am definitely not made for computer science.  I know, am always the one who argues that marks means nothing, but definitely, after seeing my new cpa which has become 57, i definitely know where i stand, i thought i worked quite well in software engineering and system software, definitely i was wrong, i did really really bad in those (soo bad that am not even yet willing to accept it).

I hope i can end the course quickly so as i can move to another field, hopefully there must be another field out there which is made for me.

 if I’ve not dragged cindy to work on the final year project together, i would have probably not done any project this year.

…am feeling sad, down, depressed and wanna blow my brains off, am i really that bad!

..helps to bring out the frustration (though i may not entirely agree with that one.. as it will appear as if you are evaluating your old relation as if it was business).

Treat youself

Go out, have fun, drink, smoke, have fun (though i didn’t smoke.. i promised i won’t smoke, and i intend on keeping that), learn if learning is your passion, do something that you like, you need to forget the pain, i know iti s difficult to forget this pain, but try doing something evil (e.g deface a few websites while listening to some Black Sabbath/cannibal corpse/Craddle), but don’t fall into drugs or things which are dangerous to yourself, remember, you don’t wanna hurt yourself, life sucks, so to hell with life and the rest, live for yourself for some days.. turn selfish.

Change your routines

Definitely, after being with someone, you have a certain routine of life you don’t wanna change, but heh, try changing that, you don’t wanna remember your ex, because it will pain you, (personally i think, you wanna have a stoneheart for some time, it helps a lot, enfin i derive pleasure in doing harm when i am down, this works for me, try seeing what makes you happy and adapt your life to that) . E.g I have planned on learning unix network programming socket by the end of this week and get a good grasp of ajax by then of this week itself.

Therapy

If all else fails, find someone neutral about both your gf and you, (a psy maybe, though i fear psy… because i am psy phobiac.)
