Marijuana, also known as weeds, or ganja or “mass” has been widely known as “drug” for many years, and many have been dumped in jail for marijuana possession or consumption.

I have a few questions, which i would have very much liked some politicians to answer [or anyone who has a valid and logical point].

I am epileptic, i know i lot of epileptics worldwide who takes marijuana as medicine to diminish stress levels and decrease seizure levels, the medical usage of marijuana is known for many other sicknesses, and can be verified by you if you wish to .. google it up.

My point is, if the patient knows it is helping him/her, the latter’s doctor doesn’t mind, why should the government intervene and say “no you can’t take that because it is illegal”?

After all, no one other than the patient himself/herself can understand the pain of his sickness and what makes him/her feel better!

Also, i can understand that you may say, we ban drugs because they tend to affect people, kill people or increase social bills for the government, e.g rehabilitation centers, coping with death of drug addicts and all….

but you have to be realist… till now, we have got no such cases of death with marijuana, also we know from studies that marijuana is NOT addictive!

so what???

i say yes, ban all hard drugs that causes death, impotence and laziness! i would go even as far as saying, kill addicts.

Can you prove that marijuana is more harmful that cigarettes??? or alcohol???

Recent studies showed that marijuana [thc] helps in growing brain cells, on the contrary, cigarettes and alcohol kills brain cells, so, if we do have cigarettes and alcohol legalized, why ban something that can be useful to patients who are suffering when you are legalizing poison such as cigarettes and alcohol???

is that some form of hypocrisy from the so called “system” where they legalize cigarettes and alcohol, because it brings in tax money, while if marijuana was legalized, it could be cultivated since it is an easy plant to cultivate and prepare, people will stop talking cigarettes and alcohol and hence provide lesser tax for the government??

All these countries offer medical marijuana license to patients who suffer from illnesses that can be controlled by weeds, so why not here in Mauritius?? Don’t you people realize the pain you are putting people in, sure enough, all sick people can’t vote for that, because sick people are a minority, and not many have the guts to speak out, but i believe we’ve gone too far, we need to stop acting like hypocrites, there are people who really need it…. legally rather than get it through illegal means, hence promoting illegal activities….

This is senseless to ban marijuana, when “datura” plants are grown everywhere and many consume it and this thing is lethal!

Note: You can also verify this, all epilepsy related medicines have dangerous side effects, and usually :p you should respect the dosage your doctor prescribed you [and the latter will warn you of the side effects]. Marijuana can help! its not my words, research have been done in that field.

I am only an individual, this blog entry may be just a dust of nothing, but this is my thoughts, and i sincerely believe the government is making a grave injustice, those who do not suffer from that pain can easily be among the first to point their finger and judge people and say it is drug.

I want your comments, and i hope this brings some change, lots of people in the government shouted lots of words that this will be legalized, atleast for medical usage, but then, for the sake of votes, they coward out and pussy out, i guess, government works just for votes and not for what is right and what is wrong.

Like you all know, the CSE department have organized all tests nicely in a “test week”, that was a good thing, and i like it that all tests are in one week (this way we can get over with it asap :p).

Anywayz, unfortunately, we didn’t get a holiday week before the test week, so we had to go to classes normally doing assignmenets etc.. so didn’t have much time revizing, now i have 3 tests in a row.. poor me.

That was not why i posted, i posted mainly coz i believe the the system of education sux and does no good, frankly… who really learns at school or univ??? Yes we do learn, but we don’t really learn that much (suer we are introduced to things we might not have been introduced to before), i know this is just a rant, the thing is… with tests and exams and all, we end up losing focus on our main aim… we want to learn (despite the fact that many thinks that they want to earn jobs and that’s all), NO the real meaning of it is to learn, but we don’t learn, coz we end up having to delimit what can be learnt or not in a short period of time, prepare for it, then get examined on it and then forget it all!!!!

Education needs to be free, free not as in free as gratis, but free as in freedom, we need to be able to learn what we want when we want, putting boundaries and organizing exams just makes ppl exploit that flaw and just earn degrees or result get work and forget everything.

Consider what the human race will become if we continue like that? and idiocracy?

Needed something to listen to music, so I decided to buy something to listen to music, googled a bit about the price at froogle of an ipod nano, found it to be around $114, (lil did i know that even on the the net those fake stuffs were being sold), so i just went to RoseHill to get myself one, which I saw around Rs.3500, I asked my friends to come with me… since as a shopper, am not really good, usually, i go in, pay and take it without checking and arguing. Anywayz, went in a store called Crystal fluid located in the Ground floor No.28 in the Royal Complex Commercial Centre, RoseHill Tel. 2940959.

So there were ipods look alike in the window which did seemt like neat copies, and tagged at Rs.3500 for 2 GigaBytes ‘ipod nanos’. So I went, paid and took one, asked the guy to test it, there was some problem in charging, but i supposed since the stuff wasn’t charged previously that its normal that it is taking its time, so finally, he gave me the earphone to hear some a music, he quickly took it out and packed everything in a nice really look alike Ipod nano’s box, (evenwritten made in california etc..). Prend recu etc.. I went home happilly.

It was only in the bus that i decided to read the manual, when i saw that shit, i said what the fuck, it was gibberish, example of a phrase in it (all phrases seems to make no sense), e.g “Support most 99 statures catalogues in one class are of music document and the recording document broadcast” or “The customer grows to press PLAY key, the system shut down.”

I got pissed off, I decided to return that shit then ext day, i went there, the woman talked like a bitch and said that “b non,ou ti bizin guetE avant ou prend, mo pa pou kapav retourne sa pou ou moi”, after insisting, she said “b vini dimain 3hr”, I wasn’t free the next day, didn’t go, I checked the stuff at home, found that this shit had tried to launch a virus on my system, virus which later i found out that it was “jeefo-a”. (lol poor virus, it chose the wrong computer to infect). Anywayz, I decided to not care about returning it, as am not free at the time that bitch told me to come on those days, so i tried to copy music on it to listen…

hehe, bad surprise, actually, that stuff wasn’t 2GB, (linn mal soizir dimoune pou couyonE), there was a software layer that was in the firmware itself that was making it spoof extra space when space didn’t even exist, I later found out (googling etc..), that I could find out the real disk size, found it to be 700MB, the system was great to fool ppl, when let’s say you can copy only 5 songs, you tried to copy 10 songs, you will have 10 files, but 5 of em are pointing to already existing nodes of previous existing songs, or the old ones points to the new file nodes, which means, 2 songs can become actually the same thing… but usually this resulted in “format error” when trying to play with that. Definitely I no more wanted it, i wanted to return it back, but before i wanted to hear the quality of the sound, quality was BAD, CRAP CRAP CRAP. Anywayz, pas zis sa, the battery lasted only 5 minutes, so i placed it to charge, 1hr, 3 hrs, 6hrs of charging, meme couyonad, lerr mo met santE zuE, it usually only lasted for 5 mins and then say battery empty, and shuts down.

So i called up adarsh, he came some minutes after, went to the police station, the policeman was nice, but unfortunately, he said, we will have to contact “L’acim” , linn donne nou numero la, et monn sonnE, lacim pas ti fini closed at this time i guess, so i went home, revenge in head.

Called L’acim today, they told me i need to come there personally, they said Bell village, but where, I don’t know…

The university of mauritius apparently doesn’t have enough fund to  cope for the massive number of students recruited. There’s a chance univ student will be going to college to study univ stuff now… (this sucks, you realize that there won’t be any such thing as ‘university life” if this is done? Why the heck does the government needs to get itself involved in academic issue? If the government wanted soo much to give everyone a degree, li ti kapav along with hsc certificate, mail every student who took the examination a degree!

Am not against providing tertiary education to everyone,  its good to do it, but if you can’t afford to give everyone that facility, don’t do it.

Yes, providing tertiary education to everyone does have its advantages(and disadvantages), but definitely, UOM can’t provide that,  so does the university of mauritius has to listen to whatever Ramgoolam says (so as he can say “monn donn zot zenfant accE facile a liniversitE” to boost his popularity?)? This dude doesn’t realize that maybe he is running a country, i believe he thinks he is in a movie of some sort of thing, bizin fer li all zuE ensam ar loana daprE role.

Mais non they won’t do this, they don’t care, they don’t have the time to do it, and above all, it is just too tiring to try to syncronize every test,assignments, works with the other lecturers, parseki si zot get bien, 1 time table zot pa p fouti fer bien sans ki ena bug la dans, aster, kot zot pou all gagne letemp all synchronize bann test pou nou do, zot pa pou gagne letemp! they don’t have they time at all.

What needs to be done:

[*]- *employ someone that can synchronize test/assignments between modules for each class. (or else someone takes the responsibility to do it, if there’s a lecturer reading this, OR [si pena kass ]would it be alright if we student decides to tell you, ‘heh sir, can you put the test on the next week, we’ve got XYZ test to do this week, or sir, plz bouzz sa assignment la par 3 zour parseki blah blah blah’, so, will you lecturer be able to do that for us plz?

koi, we’ve got 14 weeks, 4 modules par la, pa kapav fer li en sort ki a test per week (will take only 4 weeks), instead of trying to put 3 test in 2 days! (sa vraimem daprE lord ena lecturer sado, et zot pensE nou maso) :p

[*]- How to work out questions, c plutot, “sir how do you correct stuffs”, what do you seek in answers, that would be cool if we know what the guy wants from us. Probably giving us back our papers is a good way to start, and si possible essey compare nou papier, kifer certain answers were marked as wrong, what was expected etc.. (monn bien dir SI possible, parseki sa li prend letemp sa).

[*]- Stop giving ambiguous questions, or questions that relates to questions that has been worked in class (i mean kan inn poz 1 kestion, met tou bann detail ki kestion la dimandE), e.g si gagne 1 kestion about “write a program to do this in this language using ‘abc’ API” bein donn API la atleast, parseki, a programming language si inn fer dans class c bien, mais you can’t expect ppl to learn API, si mo rapel bien, university isn’t a place where you are taught “a specific technology in question”, but rather the idea behind things, the logics behind it (sinon li ti pou vinn 1 truque vocationel, ou plito all suivre bann cours specific a sa bann technology la). We don’t wanna become technology dependant.. c con sa.

As far as ambiguity in questions, certain questions monn trouvE ki, if you look at it from another angle, you get a different answer, if you look it at another angle, you get another different answer, so if it means that I know all the other point of view i can give any answer, then am wrong? be specific when you ask question, assume us to be like computers, give us exactly what you want, and we give you back what you want without problem, many parameters are missing in certain questions i’ve seen.

[*]- It would be a great idea is we can force students to read and prepare there notes before coming to class, the lecturer ask a few questions in class (hopefully getting some 0.5 marks for questions answerred (compte li dans regularity in class), this way, class doesn’t have to be boring, we will be participating, and its not a one way lecture.

~a student who got pissed off!

Well, it took me quite a long time ot figure it out, am definitely not made for computer science.  I know, am always the one who argues that marks means nothing, but definitely, after seeing my new cpa which has become 57, i definitely know where i stand, i thought i worked quite well in software engineering and system software, definitely i was wrong, i did really really bad in those (soo bad that am not even yet willing to accept it).

I hope i can end the course quickly so as i can move to another field, hopefully there must be another field out there which is made for me.

 if I’ve not dragged cindy to work on the final year project together, i would have probably not done any project this year.

…am feeling sad, down, depressed and wanna blow my brains off, am i really that bad!
