Test week

picture taken from freespirit.com (cover of a book showing to succeed in tests??? wtf)

Like you all know, the CSE department have organized all tests nicely in a “test week”, that was a good thing, and i like it that all tests are in one week (this way we can get over with it asap :p).

Anywayz, unfortunately, we didn’t get a holiday week before the test week, so we had to go to classes normally doing assignmenets etc.. so didn’t have much time revizing, now i have 3 tests in a row.. poor me.

That was not why i posted, i posted mainly coz i believe the the system of education sux and does no good, frankly… who really learns at school or univ??? Yes we do learn, but we don’t really learn that much (suer we are introduced to things we might not have been introduced to before), i know this is just a rant, the thing is… with tests and exams and all, we end up losing focus on our main aim… we want to learn (despite the fact that many thinks that they want to earn jobs and that’s all), NO the real meaning of it is to learn, but we don’t learn, coz we end up having to delimit what can be learnt or not in a short period of time, prepare for it, then get examined on it and then forget it all!!!!

Education needs to be free, free not as in free as gratis, but free as in freedom, we need to be able to learn what we want when we want, putting boundaries and organizing exams just makes ppl exploit that flaw and just earn degrees or result get work and forget everything.

Consider what the human race will become if we continue like that? and idiocracy?

Normal, kisana pou rod all apprann plis si so camarad p aprann moins et p gagne pliss point, while si li li p rod apprann plis li p perdi so letemp et pa p focus lor ONLY what needs to be learnt examined.

Sure its not the fault of our univ or our department, it is the fault of the ones who thought education should be this way, and i have a pretty good idea that it must be yet another action of Society..aaahh that human invention which always does thing the wrong way…

Anywayz, Education has failed … a big F for you mister Education,

lol think have already told you this

the problem with our education is that they teach us what to think, not how to think :D and at the end of the day, you get some (yep some as some are really intelligent out there) ppl who gets out of university with 1st class (in a metaphoric way),but ask them to put the command line,or do a ping and we shall have system overload followed by system error (unless they deviate it to mighty Google lol)….my point is that we are not examined on the core that should be,not the fault of the lecturer but the system…. and as most ppl fear change, guess we are stuck with that for a long time :D (hopefully some ppl are trying to move things, but too bad their dynamism is stop by some ppl, hhmm how can a say that, take the director of mbc, lol ever heard a director of mbc tell you after he received a complaint that mbc programs sucks: “si ou pa content apre tou sa zefor nu fer la,b teigne tv la”…yeah right,i mean his dad is making his pay ^^)

you think that the youth to come can change that ? hope yes,but my inner feeling says we will be stuck with it for a bit of time :(

@splash: yup i heard that, mais, that;s the disadvantage of a test week et bizin acceptE :)

@nilesh: Well some students may come out of univ and still not having any practical knowledge of networking, or even programming (assume), but that’s not my point, what i wanted to focus on is that… what we do learn isn’t in depth we are being limited, why because test papers and exam papers needs to be set,

sure they will say that we can learn as much as we want on our own, but sincerely, do you really think you can learn as much as you want in depth when you have tests and exams approaching like a army outside your door knowing to drink your blood?

@permal : great to see that you are checking in once a while.
    thanks for the gudluck.
to pou faire bien toi. reviser do.
Mo pa tro kass tet about doing gud or not in tests (enfin si un peu for my own ego), mais mo papa inn avoy moi univ pou mo amizE et nou opu mo vinn fou. :p

ki pou fair do – bizin accepter system la. morice coume sa. to pou aprane resigner apres ene certaine temps.
The thing is.. am not saying that JUST mauritius is like that, but i meant to say The whole world is like that and this seems to be a very big problem, the whole world seems to be centerred about examining and classifying people, instead it should have been like understanding what each person does best then let the person the freedom of choice to move further and further in…
without any kinda of rating people by how much marks they achieve, but instead on what can they make to make the world move one step ahead.

Do you really believe that someone failing univ or school or college is stupid??
I bet no, everyone is good at something, according to me, people should have been treated as functions, use them according to their output they can provide, this way the world would have move much much forward :p…
mo p pense lepok ancient greek la :p

As far as whether i’ll learn to resign or not :p, well i know how to resign, and that’s what i am doing most of the time, but i know how to keep it in my stack so as later, when everything shits out and breaks, i’ll be among the very first to come out and laugh saying “mo ti dirr sa, zot pann ecoutE!”.

Hello test-guy! Good luck! I just went through my own CSE test week.. I truly hate maths now! :(

Anyways. This was easy to what’s coming next semester. Yearly modules mean that I need to remember 2 semesters’ content for the final exams. That will be TOUGH! o_0!

Why do we need exams when there’s life to enjoy?? :(

bein ki pu faire … ena test and we have to do it … par contre test and exams for political sciences it is based on what is happening in thw world we just have to be up to date of what is goin locally and on international scene .. perhaps it is more easy than cse exams//// ….

Mtian education system bein nu ena un grand problem c sure… ceki mw amo penser is that … from f 1- f3 nu ena pres 13 subjects to study nu tous in passe la dans normally f3 nu ena 13 ans we dont really know what we wanna to become in life … then ki arriver nu bisin ale dans f4 la … aster in most cases we will get advice from everywhere in the end we end up choosin subjects in whc we scored more marks in f3 … doesnt mean the kid like that subject basically he thinks hes intelligent

akoz accounts f3 ek dans f4- f5 pas meme zafaire ca … bon passons supposer someone in mal choisir li bisin traine ca ban subjects la till hsc … so students bisin gagne a good counselling at an early lerla at uni level nu pu ena a freedom of education like u r sayin …je crois ke la base meme pas ok
