You can learn a lot of useful stuff in movies.

For example, if ever you find yourself in a bad situation you must be aware that:
1. you can outrun an explosion
2. you can learn to use a sword, a gun or whatever weapon in an amazingly short time (sometimes even on the spot when professional bad guys are shooting at you a la mission impossible 3)
3. you can run through a barrage of gunfire and the only hurt you will have at the end of the day is a small scratch from having fallen (in the middle of the gunfire of course)

Movies... one rule about fights in movies (underline 'movies'):

If you are surrounded by 10+ enemies, don't worry. They will always try to attack you one by one and never all together.

(It's true!)

I don't really enjoy martial arts. Except in movies when you just have to sit down and be awed by the actors' cool stunts haha. But then that's probably because I never understood how those exercises they make you do during training has any relation with an actual fight :(
